At HPSC, we service:
  • Psycho-assessment to families and individuals from conflict zone areas who experience (deportation process)
  • Psychotherapy support to traumatize individuals, youths and adult with symptoms of: PTSD, Depression, Anxiety due to deportation process.
  • Counselling families and individuals from different ethno-cultural backgrounds; providing psychotherapy and integration support.
  • Crisis intervention: with families and individuals who come from conflict zone areas experiencing significant pre and post migration trauma.
  • Counselling individuals and families; experiencing violence and abuse partner relationship
 Cognitive Therapy (CT)
A system of psychotherapy with an operationalized treatment is based on an elaborated theory of psychopathology and personality. The theory has been empirically validated in hundreds of cognitive science studies, and the therapy itself has been demonstrated to be effective in hundreds of randomized controlled trials for a wide variety of psychosocial, psychiatric disorders problems, and medical conditions with psychological components. Research has shown that CT is highly effective in helping patients not only overcome their disorders but also in preventing relapse. (Beck, 2005) and (Hollon et al., 2005)

Family Therapy
Is designed to help families collaborating in order to address problems. It addresses specific issues that affect the psychological health of the family, such as major life transitions or mental health conditions. It may be used as the primary mode of treatment or as a complementary approach. The course of treatment is often brief, and most family therapy models seek to address the communication (verbal and nonverbal) styles of the family, as well as any individual issues that may be interfering with the cohesiveness of the family system.

Individual Therapy
Individuals may seek an individual therapy for a number of reasons, including struggling with difficulties or simply wanting a better understating of themselves and their world. Presenting difficulties may include, but are not limited to:
  • Depression
  • Anxiety
  • Trauma
  • Stress and
  • Substance abuse problems
At HPSC we greatly value the importance of the fit between you and your therapist and view psychosocial therapy as a truly collaborative experience. At Hamed Psychotherapy Clinic, we work from a number of treatment orientations. Treatment is tailored specifically to your needs.

Couple Therapy
We work with couples at all stages of relationships; whether it is premarital counselling or working through issues that arise in long-term partnerships. As with individual therapy, our work is influenced by the unique relationship that is experienced between you and your partner. We work with heterosexual and homosexual couples.

Psychological Education Assessment/s
Are available for children, adolescents and adults who may have concerns regarding learning and academic performance. Incorporating a clinical interview and various testing measures, we assess your strengths and weaknesses in many areas of learning. If applicable, specific learning disorders or exceptional such as learning difficulties, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder or giftedness may be identified.

Psychological Deportation Assessment/s
Are available for individuals and families who may have concerns regarding their immigration and settlement process in Canada. Incorporating a clinical interview and various testing measures, we assess your psychological and social problems that occurred due the pre- and post-immigration process, we assess your strengths and weaknesses related to the immigration process and its relationship to deportation process in many areas. We do the assessment and needed treatment to help client/s to settle legally and get a normal psychosocial well-being.
Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT)
Is a components-based model of psychotherapy that addresses the unique needs of children with PTSD symptoms, depression, behavior problems, and other difficulties related to traumatic life experiences. Trauma focused cognitive behavioral therapy is a short-term treatment approach that can work in as few as 12 sessions. It also may be provided for longer periods of time depending on the child’s and family’s needs. Individual sessions for the child and for the parents or caregivers, as well as joint parent-child sessions, are part of the treatment. As with any therapy, forming a therapeutic relationship with the child and parent is critical to TF-CBT.
